Mom let Alex stay up late to watch the first period of the playoffs. C’mon Oilers!
We tagged along with dad on a work retreat to the Jasper Park Lodge. Mom shot a lot of film. Not a lot of digital. Alex likes the JPL. He got to see elk, deer, squirrels and geese. He also got to play with a cabin full of kids and watch “Connor David” on the tv. What a weekend!
Daddy had a hockey game at the Rogers Place Community Arena. Alexander was convinced he was going to see the Oil Kings play. CONVINCED! Every time I pointed out daddy on the ice he would say, “No. Not daddy. Oil Kings. Goooaaaaaalllllllll!!!!” He also really wanted to hear the Oil Kings goal song so I played it after one of the goals. My god, our kid likes Nicki Minaj!
Mom’s starting to get used to shooting film, even though this manual focus is next to impossible with a two-year-old.
Our neighbours build a backyard rink each winter. Alexander loves to watch the kids skate on the ice. We bought skates and a helmet but it wasn’t until this weekend when the weather was really nice enough to get out there and try.
Alexander loved shooting the puck. It slides so much better on the ice than on hardwood floors. He did not like the moving around part so much. He certainly didn’t like the getting off the ice to have supper part the most. He just wanted to stand in the middle of the rink and shoot pucks.
Overall, his first time on skates was a success!
Mom was able to set up the backdrop temporarily. We took some silly photos. Silly photos of a silly two-year-old.
